Our Future Roadmap
for TransAct and Supernova Products
Since 1993, we modified ACT! software to create CRM applications.
This page will give you information about what our product roadmap will be for the pinpointtools' products
that you own. The "roadmap", for those who don't speak software development,
spells out the future direction we are taking our products. If you have any
questions about the pinpointtools' products you own, please fill out the Ask Us
A Question form and we'll answer as soon as possible.
The short answer for our products is this: pinpoint Marketing tool will continue to work with all versions of ACT!, Outlook 2000-2007, and Business Contact Manager 2003 and 2007. Our TransAct products will not be updated for ACT! 2005 and beyond - they have been recreated for Microsoft's Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager.
Check out pinpoint Solutions on the "Outlook with BCM" menu option above. Here's some information on each product, albeit somewhat repetitive...
TransAct Mortgage: Currently, this works with ACT! 5.0, 2000, and 6.0. It will not be updated any further for ACT! 2005-2009, although you can convert your database from 6.0 to 2005-9(the screen layouts don't convert very well - you'll need to tweak those). Instead, we have released pinpointMortgage for Business Contact Manager 2007 to take its place, plus a new Calyx Link for Outlook and Business Contact Manager 2007. We believe that Business Contact Manager is a better platform for the typical mortgage professional and team and we're excited about the customizations we're doing for it. Calyx Point Link for ACT!: We have discontinued this product for ACT!. We released a new version that works with Business Contact Manager as a part of our pinpoint Solution, pinpoint Mortgage. The great news for this product will be an integration with our pinpoint Marketing tool so that you can apply a plan or campaign to a contact as you move their data from Calyx to Business Contact Manager. TransAct Residential: Currently, this works with ACT! 5.0, 2000, and 6.0. It will not be updated any further for ACT! 2005-2009, although you can convert your database from 6.0 to 2005-9 (the screen layouts don't convert very well - you'll need to tweak those). Instead, we released pinpointFinancialAdvisor for Business Contact Manager 2007 to take its place. We believe that Business Contact Manager is a better platform for the typical financial advisor and team and we're excited about the customizations we're doing for it. TransAct for Pocket PC: Currently, this works with ACT! 5.0, 2000, and 6.0. It will not be updated any further for ACT! 2005-2009. It has been a great product for us but it's not economically possible to rewrite it for the new ACT!. We suggest using CompanionLink (www.companionlink.com) - they know more about synching to handhelds than anyone.
